No more or less than the truth

I have written words only for them to be erased by a computer.
I have tried to comment only to be frozen out by a computer.
I have tried to communicate only to be thwarted by a computer.

I am computer illiterate.

I do not have the energy to keep fighting the barriers that constantly rise to stop me.

I will not be trying again.

It is not as if I had anything to say worth reading.
My whole life is a failure of communication.


My last effort to enter Ellipsis Monday Photo Shoot took over an hour to compose and was ‘lost’ in a second by a computer that I would gladly kick into oblivion.


Don’t tell me to keep trying.
I have had more than enough of that.

I offer a photograph of landlines held on the heights above a forest in Cheshire England.
Delamere Forest.
This is the greatest landmark I know because it saved me from the abyss of the ignorance that surrounded me and gave me the will to search on the Internet for more than the moment that held me speechless with lies.
I sought a virtual answer to the reality of the pain I suffered.

The forest held my imagination and its’ roots bound me to the earth. I climbed the heights and I heard the call from the sky.

My tree may have been felled but the roots remain firmly in the soil of Cheshire, England.

I give you my landmark.
The ability to communicate.

Patterns of Behaviour

She has asked us to think ‘outside the box’ so my entry shows patterns of behaviour I observed when I took a short break at Delamere Forest in my mobile caravan.

I quickly realised the only way I would obtain a picture of the very shy wild rabbits was to anticipate where they would go and wait with the camera set up. Unfortunately any sight or sound of a human sent them scampering off.
There was one rabbit that regularly came to breakfast on the grassy slope outside my caravan so I decided to try to get a photograph through the kitchen window using the caravan as a ‘hide’.
It rained heavily that night and I wondered if the rabbit would make his usual appearance. I set up the camera at dawn with my new Tamron 18-270mm lens to give me the best chance of a close up and dried the outside of the window to remove the water droplets that would have interfered.
After waiting for about 30 minutes the rabbit arrived and chose to eat on the bank as usual. This gave me the added advantage of being able to photograph him at almost his level despite the fact the position of the camera was severely restricted by the window.

The other pattern of behaviour I saw was exhibited by garrulous gulls that had decided to choose the remains of felled trees showing above the water of the mere for nesting places. Those already in situ defended their rights loudly if any other gull attempted to land. I chose a specific sight and then waited for another bird to fly into the frame and initiate the argument!

In both cases the photographs required observation of the pattern of behaviour of wildlife in order to be in the right place and then wait patiently for the right time to take them.

Apparently, for extra credit I should have said what my favourite colour is and how this affects my photography. I only realised this after going to Greg's site where I do not have any trouble accessing it for the time I need to understand what is written.
My favourite colour is yellow, like the sun.
Enough said!

I hope to be able to enter this challenge and many more.

I do not understand why I have been thwarted in the past.

I cannot cope with an interface I do not understand and this precludes me downloading anything other than what AOL works with.

If that seems a weakness then I would challenge anyone to try to live with my disability and not refuse the additional stress that such apparently small changes cause unless they are essential.

I have decided that living in the real world will take every ounce of my ability to survive with the changes that must occur for any society to thrive.

I have decided what is essential for me to not only survive but live to give something to the world.

A Flag for Future Peace

Carly has asked for photographs to celebrate 'Memorial Day'

She has given an alternative to me, across the pond, to fly my flag and for extra credit surround it in Photoshop with a frame.

I prefer to use words to encompass the meaning of the flag I honour and the one I now fly for the world I love.

I fly my flag not as a memorial to the past but as a light held in the present for the future to see clearer the way that is laid by Time for Mankind.

That is what we tell our children. When will we see, hear and understand that we are children of a greater power that continually tries to teach us to care for each other and the world we have been given in order to grow and justify our existence in the universe that surrounds us.

Scotland holds a blue and white sky over the Dragon of Wales that breathes fire into the heart of England and life into the dreams of the Emerald Isle.
Union gives strength through sacrifice of individuality.
Every individual part gives strength to the whole.
The whole is greater than the sum of all parts.

I give you the Union Jack.


One day our world will have one flag. A flag of peace to fly on every ship that leaves our planet to explore the ocean of space that surrounds us.

That flag should contain every colour of every nation and therefore can only be pure white.

I therefore wish to give you my flag.
