This journal is closed to any more entries but will be left for anyone who wants to look at the photographs.
From now I am only placing entries on Visual Counterpoint and Words Speak for Thoughts
Visual Counterpoint will carry photographs that are accompanied by words.
Words Speak For Thoughts will do just that and leave you to picture the scene.
My website, www.visualcounterpoint.com will continue to be home for my photographs.
This journal was started for a photographic challenge that I am no longer welcome to enter.
I wish all the other people who have viewed my photographs and given such encouraging comments the very best with their hobby and lives.
I fear I will never understand the complexity of human nature, nor be able to make myself understood by some people.

Shutter Release Left Open. Overexposure revealed.
I am no longer attempting to give my photographs for any comments.
I have been totally disallusioned by the response to my efforts by someone I thought saw more than the camera could ever capture.
I have learned that sometimes the camera's shutter falls down on more than the digital sensor. It can fall down on the sense of the person that only looks on life through the distortion caused by a lens.
I now turn my attention to words that I might learn to make them describe my thoughts.

No Pictures Please
This journal will be deleted, as I realise the words that I fight to say are irrelevant.
The stories in my head I could never relate.
The songs that I hear I cannot write.
The journey I make is mine and mine alone.
The photographs I take are lacking in colour, contrast and continuity.
I am brain damaged and cannot communicate my thoughts let alone understand the thoughts of others in writing or speech.
I have tried and failed to overcome the massive destruction that was done to me by a drunk driver and corrupt police officers that offered help to their friend rather than caring for the victim of his crime.
I have so much hate inside me it is destroying me.
Every siren I hear drives yet another nail into my coffin, as it revives the hatred I have for the liars that have taken everything from me including my self-respect.
No don’t go to sleep after reading this unless you are prepared to have a nightmare and find that I am riding the pale horse that threatens your compliance with a corrupt system.
This is the dawn of a new day.
This is no time to fall asleep.
So I will continue on Notes on the Scale that will never try to be anything more than it is.
A lifeline from me to you if you should ever find yourself drowning.

Armed with Polarizing Filter
I have tried to fulfil the assignment Greg A Kiser gave on Tips and Tricks.
He generously offers his expertise and only asks that anyone who wants to learn post his or her photographs for him to critique.
I have tried to learn from his lesson and hope to learn again from his critique of my homework.
I have posted this on my website, as I realise it would hold little interest to those that merely want to see the finished product.
Please follow the link to Greg’s site and see a master not only at work but also giving generously of his expertise and experience.

Trick or Treat?
ELLIPSIS MONDAY PHOTO SHOOT
Follow the link to join in the fun and see other scary entries.
Carly has asked us for a photograph celebrating Halloween.
She wanted a photograph of a ghost…
I managed to capture three pictures last year; unfortunately I had not purchased a ticket to ride…

So I am still here asking, " What do you want, trick or treat?"

I'm Learning how to Photograph a Waterfall
This is my attempt to learn from Tips and Tricks by Greg. A. Kiser:
How to Photograph Waterfalls
Greg,
I have tried to follow your directions.
I did not have access to a natural waterfall and was severely limited physically to find a place to put your teachings into practice.
I would love to be able to learn this technique so that I might justify a drive into Wales where I know nature is waiting to show me water falling in beauty.
Or to Chester where I was born and grew up and the River Dee creates a great picture as it runs over the weir and under the old bridge. This is the same river that runs from the mountains in Wales and carries the songs of that country to the sea.
This is a weir on the River Mersey.
I could not get near the fall, as the first photograph will show.
I used my Tamron 18-270mm lens in an attempt to gain a closer view.
I feel like an alien in this land where I live.
I feel unable to capture the magic you have at your fingertips.
I used Canon 20 D with circular polarizer and neutral density 8 filters. I was able to take a tripod to this site.
The first pictures are taken in normal mode and show the scene.
Then I played
I welcome any comments and accept criticism with an open mind, as this is the only way I can learn to do better.
I feel like an infant entering school for the first time.
I did not feel able to take charge of my camera completely. I only used Shutter priority in order to increase the time of exposure.
Please do not hesitate to speak the truth.
I am not satisfied with the pictures I obtained and I want to learn how to do better.
